Love is a boundary object

2025 | paper, paint, Gorton's Seafood packaging classic fish stick

Along the North American coast that jostles with the Atlantic, laughing gulls engage in a courtship ritual: they snatch up a piece of fish flesh, tug at it with their beaks until one pulls it free, and gobble it down only to regurgitate it into the mouth of their lover.

Bodies as flexed surfaces and as sites of intake and injection, some wanted and some resented. Classification systems as silhouettes wrapping containers for food trade policies navigating and negotiating the slipperiness of boundaries.
